Buccaneers Sign Second-Round CB Benjamin Morrison with High Guarantees

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have signed their second-round draft pick, cornerback Benjamin Morrison, to a four-year rookie contract that includes 96 percent guaranteed in the third year. Morrison, selected 53rd overall in the 2025 NFL Draft, was a standout at Notre Dame, recording nine interceptions, 18 passes defensed, and 61 tackles over 31 games in three seasons. Despite undergoing hip surgery in 2024 that ended his junior season early, Morrison decided to enter the draft, feeling he had enough film to warrant a high pick. His signing follows a broader trend of second-round picks securing larger guarantees than in previous years, with Morrison being part of a collective effort by players to improve contract terms. Expected to serve as a backup to Jamel Dean and Zyon McCollum, Morrison brings a promising skill set to a Buccaneers secondary that struggled in 2024, partly due to injuries to key safeties.
