IDF Orders Northern Gaza Evacuation Amid Expanded Strikes
The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) have issued wide evacuation orders for Palestinians living in several northern Gaza neighborhoods, including Al-Atatra, Jabalia, Shujaiya, Al-Daraj, and Al-Zeitoun, as part of an expanded military offensive against Hamas. The IDF's Arabic spokesperson, Avichay Adraee, warned that these areas are considered dangerous combat zones due to embedded terrorist threats, urging residents to move westward to avoid harm. Concurrently, Israeli forces have intensified strikes across Gaza, targeting locations such as the Shujayieh neighborhood and allegedly civilian infrastructure used for terrorist activities. The Palestinian Health Ministry reported that Israel has ordered the forced evacuation of al-Awda Hospital in Jabalia, raising concerns about the safety of Gaza's health system and calls for international protection and adherence to humanitarian law. Separately, Indonesia's President Prabowo Subianto has proposed a temporary evacuation plan to relocate vulnerable Palestinians from Gaza to Indonesia, which has sparked debate over its humanitarian intent and potential political implications amid ongoing regional tensions. Critics caution that such evacuations might inadvertently support controversial proposals perceived as facilitating Israeli occupation or ethnic displacement, emphasizing the need for international solidarity to secure an independent Palestinian state.
