Irish Firefighter Terence Crosbie Convicted of Boston Hotel Rape During St Patrick's Day 2024
Terence Crosbie, a 39-year-old Irish firefighter from Dublin, was found guilty of raping a 29-year-old woman in a Boston hotel during the 2024 St. Patrick's Day celebrations after a second trial. The victim testified that she met Crosbie's hotel roommate at a local pub, danced, kissed, and then returned alone with Crosbie to the Omni Parker House hotel, where the assault occurred while her companion was asleep. The first trial resulted in a hung jury, but after over 15 hours of deliberations, the second jury convicted Crosbie. Crosbie was arrested at Logan Airport shortly after being interviewed by Boston police and was caught trying to leave earlier than his scheduled flight. Prosecutors highlighted the survivor's bravery and the challenges faced in overcoming outdated attitudes about sexual assault during the trial. Crosbie is set to be sentenced on October 30, 2025, and his family and supporters showed emotional reactions to the verdict in court.
