Veteran Hong Kong Actor Benz Hui Dies at 76

Veteran Hong Kong actor Benz Hui (Hui Shiu-hung) died on Oct. 28 at Hong Kong Sanatorium and Hospital from multiple organ failure caused by cancer. He had been hospitalised in critical condition on Oct. 27, and numerous friends and colleagues — including Charmaine Sheh, Chow Yun-fat, Michael Miu, Luisa Maria Leitao, Dayo Wong and other TVB associates — visited him in hospital; his family said they will announce funeral arrangements. Hui's career spanned more than 50 years and about 150 films and television series, earning honours such as the TVB Anniversary Award for Best Supporting Actor in 2013 and wide recognition for his role as Foon Hei Gor in the Line Walker series. In recent years he had largely scaled back acting work and was living semi-retired in Singapore with his wife Angeli Lung and their daughter Charmaine, who is married to Singaporean Shane Sim.
