The Woodlynne Police Department in New Jersey will officially disband due to a severe staffing crisis and numerous management failures identified in an independent review. Following the disbandment, the Camden County Police Department will take over policing for the borough, which comprises around 2,900 residents within a small area. The review revealed critical lapses including inadequate training, failure to conduct investigations, and a lack of evidence handling protocols. With only three full-time officers remaining and several departures imminent, the borough's public safety director deemed the situation unsustainable. The transition to the Camden County Police is expected to enhance services, with supplemental patrols beginning on September 1.
