PWHL Unveils New Team Names and Logos

The Professional Women's Hockey League (PWHL) has officially unveiled new team names and logos for its six franchises ahead of the 2025 season, moving away from generic geographic identifiers used in the inaugural season. The teams now include the Boston Fleet, Minnesota Frost, New York Sirens, Ottawa Charge, Toronto Sceptres, and Montreal Victoire, with names reflecting local culture and community pride. League executives emphasized the importance of traditional nicknames and unique branding to enhance the connection with fans, which was a highly anticipated development after a year of simply using city names. The new identities were created in collaboration with creative agency Flower Shop and maintain key color schemes from Year 1 while introducing additional hues. The unveiling was celebrated on major media platforms such as Good Morning America and Breakfast Television. This initiative marks a significant milestone in establishing the PWHL's identity as it prepares for its second season and aims to solidify its presence in women's sports.
