China has become the first country to record over a million EV sales in a single month, with a 33% growth compared to last year. In contrast, Europe has seen a decline in EV sales by 4%, attributed to ending subsidies and trade restrictions on Chinese EVs. BYD, a leading Chinese EV maker, has raised its annual sales target to 4 million vehicles, partially driven by the successful introduction of new plug-in hybrid models. The company reported record sales in August and aims to sell 418,000 vehicles per month in the fourth quarter, with over 11% of these sales expected to come from overseas. This surge in sales has been bolstered by government rebates for qualifying models.
