F1 Returns to Globo in Multi-Year Brazil Broadcast Deal

Formula One has signed a three-year exclusive broadcast deal with Globo in Brazil starting in 2026, marking the broadcaster's return after losing the rights in 2021. Globo will air every session across TV Globo, Sportv, and its streaming platform Globoplay until 2028, with 15 Grands Prix available live and on delay via free-to-air (FTA) platforms, while the full season will be accessible to subscribers of Globo’s paid platforms. Despite submitting a lower financial offer than competitors Bandeirantes and Record, Formula One chose Globo based on its ability to deliver stronger viewership and provide one of the largest FTA packages in the sport. The deal includes extensive production capabilities to enhance the viewing experience with expert analysis and comprehensive coverage, integrating Formula One into Globo’s broader news and entertainment portfolio. Brazil continues to be a significant market for Formula One, with a strong fan base of 71 million, and the presence of Brazilian driver Gabriel Bortoleto adds local excitement. The São Paulo Grand Prix remains a key fixture as the only South American race, further underscoring Brazil’s importance in the Formula One calendar.
