Spring NCAA Transfer Portal Sees Key Departures

As the NCAA transfer portal's spring window opens, several college athletes from various programs are seeking new opportunities. Mississippi State's starting left tackle Jesse Ramil, with prior experience at James Madison and Saint Francis, has entered the portal. Vanderbilt defensive tackle De'Marion Thomas, who started all 13 games in 2024, is also transferring, prompting the Commodores to search for replacements. In basketball, UNLV has added guard Howie Fleming Jr. from Texas-Rio Grande Valley, and West Virginia is pursuing SMU forward Yohan Traore. Florida State faces the departure of wide receiver Jordan Scott and Leon Washington Jr., son of FSU legend Leon Washington, who is leaving Florida Atlantic. Oklahoma running back Sam Franklin, formerly of UT-Martin, is transferring after limited playtime with the Sooners.
