Chargers LB Denzel Perryman Released After Felony Weapons Arrest
Los Angeles Chargers linebacker Denzel Perryman was arrested on a felony weapons charge after deputies found five firearms, including two assault-style rifles, in his vehicle during a traffic stop. Despite the arrest, L.A. County District Attorney Nathan Hochman decided not to press charges, and Perryman was released from custody. Perryman's attorney confirmed the charges were dropped and emphasized Perryman’s focus on returning to his family and teammates. Chargers head coach Jim Harbaugh expressed support for Perryman, noting his good character and lack of prior trouble. Perryman, a veteran player drafted in 2015, rejoined the Chargers in 2024 and recorded 55 tackles across 11 games last season. His agent also expressed confidence that the situation would be resolved fairly and noted cooperation with authorities.
