Acko acquires OneCare

Acko General Insurance has acquired digital chronic care management company OneCare in an all-cash deal, marking a strategic move to expand its healthcare ecosystem beyond insurance services. This acquisition aligns with Acko's goal of integrating advanced clinical care directly into customers' insurance experiences, enhancing care from protection to prevention and recovery. OneCare, known for its omnichannel model combining wearables, data insights, and virtual care teams, will see its cofounders, Rakesh Shivran and Sagar Bhat, join Acko's leadership team. Acko aims to leverage this integration to address various health insurance needs and improve service delivery for millions in India. The Indian insurtech market is expected to grow significantly, further motivating Acko's expansion efforts. Founded in 2016, Acko has already distributed over 1 billion insurance policies and aims for profitability by FY27.
