Twins Place Catcher Christian Vázquez on 10-Day Injured List, Recall Jhonny Pereda

The Minnesota Twins have placed catcher Christian Vázquez on the 10-day injured list due to a left shoulder infection, retroactive to August 6. Vázquez, 34, has struggled offensively this season, hitting .174 with two home runs and 16 walks in 61 games, although he ranks sixth in the American League for caught stealing with 13 runners caught.
