Jon Jay Joins Cardinals Coaching Staff

The St. Louis Cardinals have announced the hiring of Jon Jay as a member of their coaching staff for the 2025 season, marking his return to the team where he played from 2010-2015. Jay, a key contributor to the 2011 World Series championship team, previously served as the first base coach for the Miami Marlins. Alongside Jay's hiring, Brant Brown has been appointed as the new hitting coach, succeeding Turner Ward, who was let go following the Cardinals' offensive struggles in the 2024 season. Willie McGee, a long-time coach and Cardinals Hall of Famer, will transition to a special assistant role in the front office. The Cardinals' coaching staff will retain several members, including bench coach Daniel Descalso and pitching coach Dusty Blake. Additional staff changes, including a new assistant general manager and farm director, are anticipated in the coming weeks.
