3.5-Magnitude Earthquake Strikes Fontana, California
Two earthquakes struck near Fontana, California, on Saturday. The first, a 3.5-magnitude quake, occurred at 2:17 p.m. and was felt across Southern California, with reports coming from as far as Santa Clarita and Temecula. The second tremor, measuring 3.4 in magnitude, followed later that evening at 8:17 p.m. Both earthquakes were shallow, with depths of approximately 1.5 miles and 3.5 km respectively. Fortunately, no injuries or structural damage were reported in connection with either event. The United States Geological Survey noted that this series of quakes is part of the numerous minor earthquakes recorded in California each year.
