Massachusetts Preschool Teacher Arrested for Assaulting Multiple Toddlers

Lilly J. Garofalo, a 29-year-old former preschool teacher at Little Steps Learning Center in Scituate, Massachusetts, has been charged with 16 counts related to the physical and verbal abuse of five children under the age of three. Between April and May, Garofalo allegedly pushed children to the ground and slammed them into walls, tables, and chairs, with many incidents captured on surveillance footage. She was arraigned on four counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and 12 counts of assault and battery, pleading not guilty, and was released on $1,000 bail with conditions barring contact with children under 16 and case witnesses. The allegations came to light after concerned parents and staff reported Garofalo's behavior, prompting a joint investigation by Scituate police, the Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office, and the Massachusetts Department of Children and Families. Garofalo resigned from her position following her suspension, and authorities are seeking additional information from the public regarding potential further incidents.
