Israeli Forces Arrest Weapons Dealer, Seize Arms Southern Syria

Israeli forces conducted a nighttime operation in southern Syria's Taranja area, near Quneitra, resulting in the arrest of a weapons dealer and the confiscation of weapons. The operation was carried out by the 226th Paratroopers Brigade under the 210th Division, in coordination with Military Intelligence Unit 504, following intelligence and surveillance efforts. This operation is part of ongoing Israeli military efforts to prevent the entrenchment of terrorist elements and protect Israeli civilians, especially those living in the Golan Heights. The IDF maintains deployments in the region to disrupt hostile activities and has previously conducted strikes against weapons trafficking networks and terrorist targets. Israel considers the 1974 ceasefire agreement with Syria void until stability is restored, and it continues to enforce a buffer zone to limit rebel proximity to its border.
