Max Homa Leads First Round of Nedbank Golf Challenge

Defending champion Max Homa has taken the lead in the first round of the 2024 Nedbank Golf Challenge at Sun City, posting a six-under-par 66. Despite dropping two shots on the back nine, Homa finished strong with consecutive birdies, ending the round one stroke ahead of South African Ockie Strydom, who carded a five-under-par 67. Homa's round featured eight birdies but was challenged by windy conditions that disrupted play. He seeks to become the first American to defend this title since Jim Furyk in 2006.
