Russia, Ukraine Exchange 95 Prisoners of War

Russia and Ukraine have conducted a prisoner exchange involving 95 individuals from each side, mediated by the United Arab Emirates. The Russian Defence Ministry confirmed the swap, stating that the returned servicemen are undergoing medical examinations in Belarus, a key ally of Russia. Ukrainian officials have yet to acknowledge the exchange, highlighting persistent communication gaps amid ongoing hostilities. This marks the 57th exchange since Russia's full-scale invasion began in February 2022, with the last swap occurring in September. Additionally, Kyiv reported the repatriation of the bodies of 501 soldiers killed in the conflict, while Russia received 89 of its fallen soldiers in return. The UAE has played a crucial role in facilitating these exchanges throughout the war.
