Two Men Face Trial in Liam Payne Drug Death

Two men, Braian Nahuel Paiz and Ezequiel David Pereyra, will stand trial in Argentina for allegedly supplying cocaine to former One Direction member Liam Payne prior to his death in October 2024. Both men have been in custody since January and face up to 15 years in prison if convicted of drug-related charges. Prosecutors stated that Payne consumed cocaine by snorting and smoking it in his hotel room at the CasaSur Palermo Hotel minutes before his fatal fall from a third-floor balcony. The autopsy determined he died from polytrauma with internal and external bleeding. Toxicology reports showed high levels of alcohol, cocaine, and psychotropic substances in his system at the time of death. Charges against three other individuals were dropped earlier, and the case has drawn significant attention due to Payne’s celebrity status and the tragic circumstances.
