ITV has canceled the crime drama series 'The Tower' after three seasons due to declining viewer numbers. Despite the show's initial success, drawing over 5.5 million viewers at its debut in 2021, the third season saw a significant drop, attracting only 2.5 million viewers. The series, based on Kate London's novels and featuring actors Gemma Whelan and Emmett J Scanlan, was beloved by its audience but failed to meet ITV's expectations for its latest season. The decision to axe the series surprised the production team, as scriptwriting for a fourth season had already begun. Patrick Harbinson, who adapted the books for television, had expressed enthusiasm for continuing the series, supported by a new novel from the author. However, ITV confirmed that the series would not be recommissioned despite the potential for more stories.
