Gareth Ainsworth has been appointed as the new head coach of Shrewsbury Town, taking over from Paul Hurst, who was sacked after a poor run that left the team at the bottom of League One. Ainsworth, who previously managed Queens Park Rangers and Wycombe Wanderers, returns to management after a year away from the game, during which he worked in the media. His tenure at QPR lasted only eight months, with the team struggling in the Championship before his dismissal. Shrewsbury's director of football, Micky Moore, expressed excitement over Ainsworth's appointment, emphasizing his extensive experience and knowledge of League One football.
