Photo Exhibition Highlights Stories of Disabled Individuals in Wolverhampton

A new exhibition titled Front and Centre will showcase the lives of individuals with multiple learning disabilities, featuring photographs of David Bache, Kenny Oates, and Parmi Banga, to be held at the Ikon Gallery in Birmingham from April 17-21. The project aims to challenge perceptions of disability by highlighting ordinary experiences and personal stories. In a related effort, VIEWdigital is launching a Community Journalism project to train people with disabilities and women from marginalized backgrounds in media skills, with the first workshop scheduled for May 2025. Additionally, Kelowna photographer Ty Gerace captures unique urban landscapes from his wheelchair, using photography to tell stories of the city, while Pasadena's Scott Gutentag focuses on providing professional photography services for individuals with disabilities, emphasizing their representation in the art world. Both photographers aim to raise awareness and foster understanding of the experiences of people with disabilities through their work.
