Deal or No Deal Banker Identity Revealed as Coronation Street Actor Glenn Hugill
The long-standing mystery of the identity of the Banker on the original Channel 4 run of Deal or No Deal has been solved, revealing that the role was played by Coronation Street actor Glenn Hugill. Hugill, known for his role as detective Alan McKenna on the soap from 1996 to 1997, was also the show's executive producer during its original broadcast from 2005 to 2016. He remained the Banker for approximately a decade, with his identity kept secret until recently confirmed by various sources including Richard Osman. Hugill has a notable background in television, having presented The Mole and later selling his production company to ITV before joining Wheelhouse, founded by Jimmy Kimmel. The current Deal or No Deal host, Stephen Mulhern, has stated that he does not know the identity of the new Banker for the revived version, emphasizing the continued mystery surrounding the role. Glenn Hugill’s high intellectual achievements and production success add an intriguing dimension to his dual role as both Banker and executive producer on the show.
