Farmer unions are planning nationwide protests, including burning effigies and a 'long march' to demand legal MSP guarantees and MSP calculations based on the Swaminathan Commission's C2+50 formula. The farmers' demands have been a core issue since their protests began in 2020, leading to the eventual withdrawal of three controversial farm laws.
