Royal Caribbean Expands California Operations with New San Diego Homeport

Royal Caribbean is set to establish its first homeport in San Diego, beginning in October 2026 with the Serenade of the Seas, which will offer three-, four-, and seven-night cruises to the Mexican Riviera, including new destination La Paz. This expansion aims to provide West Coast cruisers with more options, as the region has traditionally had fewer choices compared to the East Coast. In addition to the San Diego route, other vessels like Quantum of the Seas and Ovation of the Seas will operate from Los Angeles, offering various itineraries to destinations such as Cabo San Lucas and Ensenada. The new cruises will be available for booking starting February 13, 2025, with early access for Crown & Anchor Society members. Royal Caribbean's move marks a significant growth in its West Coast presence, enhancing travel opportunities for California-based vacationers. With the introduction of these sailings, the cruise line aims to cater to the increasing demand for diverse cruise experiences in the U.S.
