Taron Egerton Joins Channing Tatum Zazie Beetz Crime Drama Kockroach

Taron Egerton has joined the star-studded cast of the upcoming crime drama "Kockroach," alongside Channing Tatum and Zazie Beetz. The film, directed by Matt Ross and written by Jonathan Ames with revisions by Ross, is an adaptation of William Lashner's novel about a mysterious stranger who rises to power in New York's criminal underworld. Egerton replaces Oscar Isaac, who exited due to scheduling conflicts. Produced by Andrew Lazar and Kevin Frakes, the project is described as a fresh and bold take on the gangster genre, comparable to films like "Goodfellas" and "Scarface." Filming is set to begin in February in Australia, with a high-profile technical team including Oscar-winning production designer Colin Gibson, cinematographer Adam Arkapaw, and VFX supervisor Jonathan Dearing. Egerton, known for roles in "Kingsman," "Rocketman," and "Carry-On," continues to solidify his presence in crime and action genres through this and other projects like "Apex."
