West Yorkshire Police Seize Over 3,000 Weapons in Violent Crime Reduction Effort

Law enforcement agencies in West Yorkshire, Australia, and New Zealand have made significant strides in reducing violent crime and illegal firearm possession through coordinated operations. West Yorkshire Police's Operation Jemlock has seized over 3,000 weapons and made more than 14,270 arrests since 2019, contributing to a 7% decrease in knife-related robberies. Concurrently, a week-long transnational crackdown by the Illicit Firearms Working Group in Australia and New Zealand resulted in the seizure of over 1,000 firearms, including 281 3D-printed or privately manufactured guns and parts, and led to 184 arrests and 854 charges.
