Juri Vips Returns to IndyCar at Portland
Juri Vips will rejoin Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing for his third IndyCar Series start at the Grand Prix of Portland on August 25. The Estonian driver, turning 24 this weekend, will compete alongside Graham Rahal, Pietro Fittipaldi, and Christian Lundgaard in a 110-lap, 216-mile race at Portland International Raceway. Vips previously debuted at Portland last year, finishing 18th, and later raced at Laguna Seca, where he encountered a multi-car wreck. Vips has been actively involved in simulator testing for RLL, helping the team understand the new hybrid engine system. Team co-owner Bobby Rahal expressed confidence in Vips' capabilities, highlighting his pace and contributions through simulator work. Vips himself is optimistic and grateful for the opportunity, hoping the experience will lead to more races with the team.
