Packers Sign Rookie WR Sam Brown Jr., Waive DL Jeremiah Martin

The Green Bay Packers have signed undrafted rookie wide receiver Sam Brown Jr., adding to their already crowded receiver room with a total of 13 wideouts on the 90-man roster. Brown, who played college football at West Virginia, Houston, and Miami, has a collegiate career total of 149 receptions, 1,903 yards, and nine touchdowns, demonstrating strong athleticism with a 4.41-second 40-yard dash and a 41.5-inch vertical jump. He was teammates with Packers first-round pick Matthew Golden during his time at Houston, where Brown led the team with 62 receptions and 815 yards in 2023. Despite his production, Brown went undrafted and attended the Miami Dolphins rookie minicamp without signing. Scouts note Brown's straight-line speed and leaping ability, though he is considered to have an unseasoned skill set with room for development, especially in route running and consistency. To accommodate Brown, the Packers waived defensive lineman Jeremiah Martin to open a roster spot.
