Global Capability Centers (GCCs) in India are offering salaries up to 20% higher than traditional IT service companies, driven by a surge in investments in Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), and cybersecurity, as detailed in TeamLease Digital's report. Currently, India hosts over 1,600 GCCs employing 1.66 million professionals, with projections of 800 new centers in the next 5-6 years. The report highlights significant salary ranges for roles such as AI/ML Engineers and Big Data Developers, with metro cities offering the highest compensation. Furthermore, over 70% of firms in sectors like Telecom and BFSI are allocating substantial portions of their technology budgets to digital initiatives. The Indian tech industry is expected to reach $350 billion by 2025, with a notable focus on cloud computing and cybersecurity. Emerging tier-II cities are also becoming attractive locations for tech job opportunities, reflecting a broader geographical diversification in the industry.
