NASCAR Chicago Street Race Returns This Weekend

NASCAR returns to downtown Chicago for the second annual Street Race this weekend, featuring both the Cup and Xfinity Series on a 2.2-mile, 12-turn course. This year's event includes new amenities such as free admission for children under 12 on Saturday and a reduced setup time from 25 to 19 days. The race weekend will also host a music festival with performances by Keith Urban, The Chainsmokers, and The Black Keys, among others. Nine drivers will compete in both the Xfinity and Cup races, including last year's surprise winner Shane van Gisbergen. Despite initial concerns about disruptions and safety, the event has been maintained under a three-year contract with the city, which can be terminated with sufficient notice. Sunday's weather forecast promises better conditions than last year's rain, with partly cloudy skies and mild temperatures.
