Blue Jays Rest Vladimir Guerrero Jr. With Sore Foot Against Angels; Bichette Returns

Toronto Blue Jays first baseman Vladimir Guerrero Jr. was rested due to a sore foot during their series opener against the Los Angeles Angels, though the injury is reported to be minor. Manager John Schneider indicated Guerrero was given the day off to rest and was available off the bench, but the Blue Jays did not ultimately use him in the game, which they won 4-3 in extra innings. Guerrero fouled a ball off his foot in a previous game against the New York Yankees but continued playing until the foot soreness required rest.
