Washington Commanders cornerback Emmanuel Forbes Jr. will undergo surgery on Friday to repair a torn UCL in his thumb, an injury he sustained during the team's Week 1 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Initially considered minor, further examination revealed the need for surgery to prevent long-term issues. Forbes was a full participant in practice earlier this week but will miss the upcoming game against the New York Giants. The Commanders may place him on injured reserve, which would sideline him for at least four games. In his absence, Michael Davis and Noah Igbinoghene are expected to step into the cornerback rotation.
