Dale Steyn to Miss IPL 2025 as SRH Coach

Former South African pacer Dale Steyn has announced that he will not be returning as the bowling coach for Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the IPL 2025 season. Steyn, who took up the role in 2022, had already missed IPL 2024 due to personal reasons and was replaced by James Franklin. Despite his departure from SRH, Steyn will continue coaching the Sunrisers Eastern Cape franchise in the SA20 league, where he has already led the team to two consecutive titles. During his tenure at SRH, he mentored several players including Umran Malik, and the team reached the IPL 2024 final under the new coaching team of Daniel Vettori and Franklin. SRH is reportedly set to retain key players like Heinrich Klaasen, Pat Cummins, and Abhishek Sharma for the upcoming season.
