Fielding Bible Awards: Cubs, Olson, Bailey, Rafaela

Sports Info Solutions announced the 2025 Fielding Bible Award winners, naming the Chicago Cubs Defensive Team of the Year and Patrick Bailey as Defensive Player of the Year. Matt Olson was the unanimous first-base winner — his fifth Fielding Bible and second with the Braves — after playing all 162 games for Atlanta. Ceddanne Rafaela won for center field, the first Red Sox center fielder to earn the honor in 20 years, leading center fielders with 20 Defensive Runs Saved and 27 Good Fielding Plays while also starting games at second base and earning an AL Gold Glove finalist nod. Ernie Clement won the multi-position award after leading MLB with 22 DRS and becoming the second player to record more than 10 DRS at multiple positions. Other individual winners included Nico Hoerner, Ke’Bryan Hayes, Mookie Betts, Steven Kwan, Fernando Tatis Jr. and Max Fried, reflecting both established and emerging defensive standouts across MLB.
