Man City Near Savinho Extension; Spurs Eye Vargas
Manchester City are close to agreeing a new long-term contract with 21-year-old Brazil winger Savinho, reportedly extending his deal to 2031. Savinho joined from Troyes in 2024 for around £30.8m, played 48 times last season and has made four appearances this season, scoring in City's Carabao Cup win over Huddersfield. City were reportedly unwilling to sell in the summer after rejecting a reported €50m offer from Tottenham, and Pep Guardiola has publicly backed Savinho's potential. Spurs remain interested and could revisit a move in January, but the prospective contract extension makes a transfer less likely. Tottenham are lining up alternatives such as Sevilla winger Ruben Vargas and other January targets to bolster their wide options.
