49ers Sign Former Panthers, Cardinals WR Robbie Chosen
The San Francisco 49ers have signed wide receiver Robbie Chosen, formerly known as Robby Anderson, to a one-year deal as they address injuries in their receiving corps. Chosen, who has played for the New York Jets, Carolina Panthers, Arizona Cardinals, and Miami Dolphins, originally entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent and has accumulated over 5,000 receiving yards and 30 touchdowns in his career. He played briefly for the 49ers in 2024 before joining the Dolphins and now returns to San Francisco, which recently released Marquez Callaway to make room on the roster. The 49ers have also signed another former Cardinals receiver, Andy Isabella, as they contend with multiple injuries at wide receiver. Meanwhile, the Carolina Panthers have signed linebacker Justin Weaver, who gained attention for having six fingers on one hand, a congenital condition he has embraced. Despite this unique trait, Weaver has demonstrated resilience and talent, overcoming injury and producing strong collegiate performance, positioning him as a key player for the Panthers' future.
