Predictive Discovery Robex Expected $1.5 Billion Merger To Form Major Guinea Gold Producer

Australian miner Predictive Discovery and Canadian miner Robex Resources are merging in a deal valued at approximately US$1.5 billion to create one of the largest gold producers in Guinea, targeting an annual production exceeding 400,000 ounces by 2029. The merger combines Predictive's Bankan gold deposit, expected to deliver 250,000 ounces per year for over 12 years, with Robex's Kiniero mine, projected to produce 139,000 ounces annually over nine years. The combined company will have mineral resources totaling about 9.5 million ounces of gold, including 4.5 million ounces of reserves, and aims to boost economic growth and infrastructure development in Guinea. Predictive will acquire all Robex shares through a court-approved plan of arrangement, with Robex shareholders holding 49% and Predictive shareholders 51% of the new entity; the merger is expected to close by early 2026 after regulatory and shareholder approvals. Leadership will feature Andrew Pardey as non-executive chairman and Matthew Wilcox as CEO, leveraging their proven expertise in the region. The Australian Securities Exchange has granted waivers to facilitate the merger without additional Predictive shareholder approval, streamlining the acquisition process and potentially enhancing the combined company’s market profile and share value.
