American Resources Expands Marion Rare Earth Refining To 3,500 Tons Annually
American Resources Corporation, through its subsidiary ReElement Technologies, is significantly expanding its Marion, Indiana Supersite to become a major refining hub for rare earth and critical minerals. The Marion facility's Phase-1 capacity is designed to handle 2,500 to 3,500 metric tons annually of magnet-grade rare earths, battery materials, and antimony, with room for additional production lines. This expansion complements the recently enhanced Noblesville facility, which produces over 250 metric tons annually of ultra-pure separated rare earth oxides critical for defense applications. The Marion site uses larger 5-foot diameter refining columns compared to Noblesville's 18-inch columns, demonstrating the scalability and modularity of their refining platform. ReElement has already ordered, identified, or installed over 60% of the necessary equipment to meet initial growth targets, indicating substantial progress toward operational capacity. The expansion aims to address the growing demand for magnet-grade rare earths, lithium, antimony, and defense-related elements, reinforcing American Resources' position in the critical minerals supply chain.
