Jameson Williams Cleared of Gun Charges

Detroit Lions wide receiver Jameson Williams will not face charges after being found with a gun in a vehicle during an October 8 traffic stop. Prosecutor Kym Worthy stated that the decision was made because Michigan law is unclear on whether a driver's Concealed Pistol License (CPL) can cover a passenger's weapon. Williams had no CPL at the time but has since obtained one. Despite being initially arrested, he was released at the scene when a police supervisor intervened. The decision not to charge Williams was made independent of his professional athlete status, as emphasized by Worthy, who noted the facts did not support criminal charges.
