Police Seek 12-Year-Old Accused of Stealing BMW Towing Caravan

Police are on a nationwide manhunt for a 12-year-old boy accused of stealing a BMW X5 and towing a caravan over a distance of 40 miles along major motorways. The boy, who was only 11 at the time of the alleged theft, failed to appear in court on March 14, prompting the issuance of an arrest warrant. The vehicle was reported stolen from a holiday park near Thirsk, North Yorkshire, and was found using cloned registration plates. Janine Forth, the owner of the caravan, recounted how she witnessed the theft and praised the quick response of law enforcement. The boy, a member of the travelling community, has no permanent address, complicating the police’s efforts to locate him. Authorities are urging caravan owners to enhance security measures to prevent similar incidents.
