Henry Fieldman Makes Olympic History with Dual Medals

Henry Fieldman has made Olympic history by becoming the first athlete to win medals in both men’s and women’s rowing events. Fieldman, a coxswain, secured bronze with Great Britain's Women's Eight team at the Paris 2024 Olympics, having previously won bronze with the Men’s Eight in Tokyo 2021. This milestone was made possible by a rule change in 2017, allowing coxes of any gender to steer the eights. Fieldman expressed his joy and humility regarding his achievements, emphasizing the teamwork and support from his squad. The Women’s Eight narrowly missed silver, finishing just 0.67 seconds behind Canada, with Romania claiming gold.
