Liverpool City Region Orders 58 Electric Buses from Alexander Dennis

The Liverpool City Region Combined Authority has ordered 58 Enviro400EV double-decker buses from Alexander Dennis as part of its initiative to enhance public transport and transition to a zero-emission fleet, with the buses set to enter service in 2025. Mayor Steve Rotheram emphasized that this order is a significant step in improving public transport quality, with an aim to create a reliable and affordable system that serves the community better. The purchase, funded by the Department for Transport’s Zero-Emission Bus Regional Areas fund, is also expected to support thousands of skilled jobs and apprenticeships in the UK. The Enviro400EV buses are designed for high environmental efficiency, consuming only 0.67kWh per kilometer and providing a sustainable operational model.
