Two minor girls were injured in separate suspected wolf attacks in Uttar Pradesh's Bahraich district on Tuesday night and early Wednesday. The incidents, affecting Shivani, 12, and Suman, 13, have added to the fear in the region, which has seen over 36 injuries and 10 deaths from wolf attacks since mid-July. The forest department has yet to confirm these were wolf attacks despite similar injuries and previous incidents. Five out of a pack of six wolves have been captured under 'Operation Bhediya', but one elusive wolf remains. Locals blame the forest department for inadequate safety measures, including a lack of doors on houses. The Uttar Pradesh government has declared the wolf attacks a 'wildlife disaster.'
