Avex Music Group Signs Producer Elkan Launches Toibox JV

Avex Music Group (AMG) has signed producer Elkan to a global publishing deal and partnered with him to launch a joint venture publishing company, Toibox by Elkan. Under this deal, Elkan’s full catalog, including past and future works, will be published through AMG, which will also support the signing and development of new writer-producers selected by Elkan and his team. Toibox has already signed its first two writer-producers, Kavin Smith and Luke Gobrial, with plans for additional signings. Elkan, known for producing Drake’s hit "Nokia" and co-writing Rihanna’s single "Friend of Mine" for the Smurfs soundtrack, began his career in Freetown, Sierra Leone, and has worked with artists like Metro Boomin and Lecrae, contributing to Lecrae’s Grammy-winning album "Church Clothes 4." AMG, led by CEO Brandon Silverstein, was launched in 2025 as the U.S. arm of Japanese entertainment giant Avex and operates as a global music company based in Los Angeles. Elkan emphasized his mission to innovate music, stating, "No one’s ready for what 2030 will sound like. Toibox is the future."
