Teens Sentenced for Transphobic Attack in London

A group of five individuals has been sentenced for a brutal transphobic attack on a transgender woman at a roller disco in Harrow, northwest London. The victim, 18, was lured under false pretenses and subsequently stabbed nine times while being subjected to transphobic slurs. Passersby intervened, helping her survive the attack, which left her with deep physical and emotional scars. The ringleader, Summer Betts-Ramsey, received an eight-and-a-half-year sentence, while the other three 18-year-olds were sentenced to three years each in youth detention. One 17-year-old received a youth rehabilitation order. The court emphasized the attack's motivation was linked to the victim's gender identity, describing it as abhorrent and driven by a distorted sense of revenge.
