Billboard Latin Awards Return; Latin Grammys Lineup
The 32nd Billboard Latin Music Awards returned to Miami on Oct. 23, featuring performances and panels with artists including Ozuna, Danny Ocean, Grupo Frontera and Beéle. Separately, the Latin Recording Academy unveiled the performer lineup for the 26th Annual Latin Grammy Awards, scheduled for Nov. 13 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. The Grammys bill adds Rauw Alejandro, Kacey Musgraves, Carlos Santana, Grupo Frontera, Edgar Barrera, Joaquina, Christian Nodal, Nathy Peluso and Elena Rose to a roster that also includes Gloria Estefan, Pepe Aguilar, Carín León, Los Tigres del Norte and Person of the Year Raphael. Edgar Barrera leads the Latin Grammy nominations with ten, while artists such as Joaquina, Elena Rose and Rauw Alejandro have multiple nods in major categories including Album and Song of the Year. Announced crossover moments include Santana’s recent work with Grupo Frontera and Kacey Musgraves’ norteño-tinged duet “Lost in Translation” with Carín León, even as some top nominees (Bad Bunny, CA7RIEL & Paco Amoroso, Natalia Lafourcade) are not scheduled to perform. Together, the Billboard awards and the Grammys’ announced lineup underscore the commercial reach and genre breadth of contemporary Latin music showcased during Latin Music Week.
