Interstate 93 experienced severe flooding, leading to full lane closures at key exits in Quincy and Milton during rush hour, severely disrupting the morning commute. The National Weather Service issued and later extended a flash flood warning for multiple counties including Suffolk, Norfolk, and Plymouth until 11:15 a.m. State and transportation officials urged drivers to avoid flooded roadways and minimize travel while crews worked to clear affected areas.
