Anne Frank Exhibit Opens in NYC January 2025

A full-scale replica of Anne Frank's Secret Annex, where she and seven others hid from Nazi persecution during World War II, is set to open in New York City on January 27, 2025, coinciding with International Holocaust Remembrance Day. This exhibition, a collaboration between the Anne Frank House in Amsterdam and the Center for Jewish History in Manhattan, marks the first time the annex has been recreated outside the Netherlands. Visitors will experience the annex as it was during the war, complete with period-appropriate furnishings, and will have the opportunity to explore over 125 artifacts, including photographs and multimedia displays. The exhibition aims to educate about Anne Frank's life beyond her victimhood, portraying her as a teenage girl, writer, and symbol of resilience. Amid rising antisemitism, this exhibit serves as a poignant reminder of the Holocaust's impact and Anne's enduring legacy. The initiative is part of a broader effort to keep Holocaust remembrance alive as the number of survivors dwindles.
