Crystal Palace Signs Spain Winger Yeremy Pino from Villarreal
Crystal Palace has signed 22-year-old Spanish winger Yeremy Pino from Villarreal as a direct replacement for Eberechi Eze, who recently transferred to Arsenal in a deal worth up to £67.5 million. Pino, whose transfer fee was around £21.5-26 million despite a £69 million release clause, has signed a five-year contract and is expected to make his debut in the upcoming Premier League match against Aston Villa. Pino brings considerable experience, having helped Villarreal win the 2021 Europa League, contributed to Spain’s 2023 Nations League victory, and scored four goals with 10 assists in 35 games last season. Palace chairman Steve Parish praised Pino as an exciting talent with a strong record in domestic, European, and international football, highlighting the club's ambitions as it competes on multiple fronts including its debut in the Conference League. The club is actively pursuing further signings ahead of the transfer deadline, with interest in players like Toulouse’s Jaydee Canvot and Manchester City’s Manuel Akanji, as Palace seeks to bolster its squad depth. Pino’s arrival follows a relatively quiet summer transfer window for Palace, with only two other signings made so far, and captain Marc Guehi attracting interest from Liverpool amid contract uncertainties.
